Woody and Buzz Lightyear in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5

Disney and Pixar have unveiled the first trailer for Toy Story 5, offering fans a glimpse at the next chapter in the beloved animated franchise. Set to arrive in cinemas this June, the film brings Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang back together with a timely new twist.

Woody and Buzz Reunite

Following the events of Toy Story 4, where Woody chose to part ways with his longtime friends, the new trailer teases an anticipated reunion between Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Franchise leads Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return to voice the iconic duo, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie. The footage suggests that while time has passed, the bond between the characters remains central to the story.

A New Rival: Technology

This time, the toys are not competing with another plaything but with a tablet.

Lilypad, a brand-new device voiced by Greta Lee, arrives with strong ideas about how Bonnie should spend her time. The storyline appears to explore the growing role of technology in children’s lives, placing the traditional toys in direct competition with digital entertainment.

Returning Favorites and New Voices in Toy Story 5

In addition to the core cast, several familiar voices are back. Keanu Reeves reprises his role as Duke Caboom, while Conan O'Brien joins the lineup as Smarty Pants. Longtime franchise regulars also return, including Hamm, Rex, Bo Peep and Forky.

New additions expand the toy box further, introducing characters such as Atlas, a cheerful GPS hippo toy, along with other fresh faces that promise to shake things up.

The ensemble blends nostalgia with new energy as the fifth installment builds on the world audiences have followed for nearly three decades.

A Story for a New Generation

While the trailer hints at humor and large-scale toy antics, it also signals a story grounded in themes that feel current. As screens increasingly shape everyday life, Toy Story 5 appears ready to explore what that shift means for imagination and play.

Toy Story 5 lands in cinemas this June, continuing Pixar’s enduring story of friendship, loyalty and growing up.
