‘One Battle After Another’ Wins Best Picture at the Oscars 2026; Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley Take Top Acting Awards

The Oscars 2026 delivered a big night for One Battle After Another, which won Best Picture and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, making it the most awarded film in the major categories this year.
The film also picked up Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing, solidifying its status as the night’s biggest winner.
Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his performance in Sinners, beating nominees Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).
Jessie Buckley took home Best Actress for Hamnet. The category also included Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Renate Reinsve, and Emma Stone.
In supporting roles, Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another, while Amy Madigan earned Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.
In the writing categories, Paul Thomas Anderson won Best Adapted Screenplay for One Battle After Another, while Ryan Coogler won Best Original Screenplay for Sinners.
Norway’s Sentimental Value won Best International Feature Film, while Mr. Nobody Against Putin took Best Documentary Feature. The Documentary Short award went to All the Empty Rooms.
Frankenstein dominated several craft categories, winning Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, and Production Design.
F1 won Best Sound, while Sinners picked up Best Original Score.
In a rare outcome, the Live-Action Short Film category ended in a tie, with both The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva winning the award.
With multiple wins across major categories, One Battle After Another emerged as the defining film of this year’s Oscars.
