Golmaal 5 Begins Shooting! Bollywood’s Most Beloved Comedy Franchise Is BACK, With New Cast Surprises & On-Set Buzz

Bollywood fans, buckle up, the chaos is officially returning! The cult comedy juggernaut that has dominated laughter at the Indian box office for nearly two decades is roaring back with its fifth installment: Golmaal 5, and the first day of shooting has already lit up social feeds and gossip boards alike. 

Director Rohit Shetty, known for blockbusters that blend slapstick, action, and heart, kicked off production on 23 February 2026 at Film City in Mumbai, and the excitement is palpable. This isn’t just “another sequel”; it’s a cultural event with fans already buzzing about the returning cast, the chaotic set pieces, and who might show up next.

Naturally, rumors have been flying, one even claimed the movie drew inspiration from a classic comedy featuring legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. That rumor was firmly shut down by Shetty himself, who clarified that no official adaptation is happening.
